Time Shifting

"...recognizes that every single moment has a particular rhythm to it, and that we have the capacity to expand or contract an individual moment as appropriate. One way to shift what's going on in our world is not to try to rush to do more, but to allow ourselves to go deeper into that moment of being present. Our ability to shift gears, to shift our rhythm to meet that moment and be present in it, is what allows us to experience the fullness of life - to create our life in the way we want it to be." - Stephan Rechtschaffen

Reality & Fairy Tales

Fairy tales don't come true.
Reality is much stormier.
Much murkier.
Much scarier.
Reality is so much more interesting than living happily ever after.

Risk

RISK
Author unknown

To laugh is to risk appearing the fool.
To weep is to risk appearing sentimental.
To reach out to others is to risk involvement.
To expose feelings is to risk exposing your true self.
To place your ideas, your dreams before a crowd is to risk their loss.
To love is to risk not being loved in return.
To live is to risk dying.
To hope is to risk despair.
To try is to risk failure.

But risks must be taken,
because the greatest hazard in life is to do nothing.

The person who risks nothing,
does nothing, has nothing, and is nothing.

They may avoid suffering and sorrow,
but they cannot learn, feel, change, grow, love, live.

Chained by their attitudes, they are a slave,
they forfeited their freedom.

Only the person who risks can be free

Die with Dignity??

"You live with dignity, you can't die with it." - Dr. House

Source: House (TV Show) - Season 1, Episode 1

I think it's really one of the best quote that just hits home run for me. How many times you heard the cliche statement, "at least I die with dignity." But have they ever thought that the precious one is not in dying but in living? Dr. House's quote made me realize that. He was confronting a patient who's giving up and asking him to allow to go home and die. "I just wanna die with a little dignity." But his reply was a harsh one,"There's no such thing. Our bodies break down. Sometimes when we are 90, sometimes before we are even born but it always happen and there's never any dignity in it. I don't care if you can walk, see, wipe your own ass. It's always ugly. Always. You live with dignity, you can't die with it."

I hope it will shed some light to some of you too. Live life with dignity.
